Step back in time ...
Owned by the Bayside City Council and run by custodians, the Friends of Black House, this unique holiday house a heritage-listed treasure.
It was built by Victoria’s first Auditor-General Charles Ebden from 1856-58.
We invite you to visit to this intriguing historic Victorian era home to see the castle-style fortress wall,
sand and paint finish and French wallpapers reproduced from the originals.
Enjoy the shady Moreton Bay Fig garden and immerse yourself in the era
with our antique furniture and costumes presented to reflect the story of the House.
