Visitors can stroll through the Black Rock House gardens and enjoy the magnificent Moreton Bay Fig Trees.  These trees were planted at the time of construction of the house, sometime during 1856 to 1858.

Little is known about Charles Ebden’s original garden, so knowing that he was born in South Africa, the Bayside Council have created a landscaped garden using African plant varieties.  This is in keeping with a South African style garden he might have kept.
